Tom Lau
As Vice President of Retirement Plan Services, Tom oversees the Client Relations, Third-Party Administration, Recordkeeping, and Client Onboarding and Conversion teams. His focus has always been on making retirement plans easier and more valuable for plan sponsors and participants. By applying Lean principles and a results-focused approach that values people, Tom has helped transform Envoy’s operations, building a culture rooted in collaboration and growth.
Tom’s leadership is grounded in his ability to bring clarity to complex challenges. When he first joined the company, he saw an opportunity to bring the teams together, creating a more streamlined, effective process. His natural talent for energizing others, combined with his careful decision-making, has allowed him to move initiatives forward in ways that benefit both clients and staff. Under his leadership, Envoy continues to grow, consistently delivering on its mission to make a positive impact through financial stewardship.
Before Tom entered the retirement plan industry, his career spanned hospitality, banking, marketing, and nonprofit work. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales, UK, and has earned several industry credentials, including Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and the FINRA Series 65 license. He is currently pursuing the QKA designation through ASPPA.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys discovering new cuisines and exploring different cultures with his wife and three children in Colorado Springs. He is inspired by the Book of Proverbs and admires King David’s leadership for its courage, humility, and faith.
